5 Dream Signings for Michael Carrick to Build a Winning Man Utd Team

In a surprising move, Manchester United opted not to invest in the January transfer window, meaning interim coach Michael Carrick will continue with the current roster for the rest of the season. This decision has raised questions about the club’s future strategy, especially as the club aims for a Champions League spot. If Carrick successfully navigates the team into European competition, he could be handed the reins on a permanent basis.

This potential promotion would allow Carrick to shape the squad according to his vision, prompting speculation about several signings he should pursue in the upcoming summer transfer window.

    Elliot Anderson

After missing out on midfielder Ruben Amorim’s requests for reinforcements last summer, United will have to prioritize strengthening their midfield, particularly with Casemiro set to leave as his contract ends. Among potential targets, Elliot Anderson stands out. The young England international has secured a regular starting position under manager Thomas Tuchel and is anticipated to play a pivotal role in the upcoming World Cup, making him a player United can’t afford to overlook.

    Angelo Stiller

In addition to Anderson, United should seek another central midfielder. The club’s previous investment in Manuel Ugarte has not yielded the expected returns, with the Uruguayan often finding himself sidelined and receiving minimal playing time. It may be time for a change, and Carrick might prefer a midfielder who fits his tactical approach more closely.

    Lewis Hall

Luke Shaw has established himself as a vital player under both Amorim and Carrick, managing to appear in every Premier League match this season. However, as Shaw advances in age, the club must consider a long-term replacement to inject fresh energy into the left-back position. Lewis Hall may be an excellent fit, bringing a younger dynamic to the squad.

    Yan Diomande

While Manchester United boasts strong options on the right wing with talents like Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo, the team faces a gap on the left flank after decisions to part ways with Alejandro Garnacho and loan Marcus Rashford to Barcelona. The uncertainties surrounding Rashford could lead Carrick to seek another left-wing option. Reports suggest a keen interest in Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, who has made a strong impression in his debut season with eight goals and six assists in all competitions.

    Danny Welbeck

United made a significant investment in Benjamin Sesko last summer, but the Slovenia international has struggled to find form during his initial period at the club. With other forwards like Mbeumo and Cunha being utilized in unconventional roles, the need for another established striker is clear. Danny Welbeck, a former academy player who now plays for Brighton, could fill this need effectively. Having already scored nine goals this season, Welbeck’s experience would be invaluable as the team aims to compete on multiple fronts.

While Manchester United’s current squad may face challenges, the upcoming summer transfer window presents an opportunity to rejuvenate the team. With Carrick potentially assuming a permanent role, the focus will likely shift towards targeting players who align with his overall strategy and vision for the club.
