Just days after announcing his soccer retirement, Lionel Messi shared an ad campaign on his social media, where he showcased all of his achievements. Toward the end of the campaign, Messi also flaunted his one FIFA World Cup victory and claimed that the “GOAT Debate” was settled. This particular statement angered Cristiano Ronaldo fans across the globe.
The ad campaign and the “GOAT debate” comment did not sit well with Morgan, who decided to rant about it on social media. “‘Mr Humble’ drops the most arrogant piece of shameless bragging in the history of sport. Hilarious,” wrote Morgan on social media.
For the past few years, Morgan has repeatedly criticized Messi, even as he has loudly praised Cristiano Ronaldo. So, the comments from Morgan were found rather unsurprising by the fans. Although it should be noted that the “GOAT debate” comment was not made by Messi personally but was a part of the beer ad campaign. So, Morgan personally targeting Messi as a result of a harmless promotional video was found rather aggressive by several fans on the internet.
