Collette Roche Takes the Helm at Manchester United’s New Stadium: What This Means for Fans and the Future of the Club

Manchester United's planned new 100,000-capacity stadium

Manchester United has introduced a pivotal addition to its executive team with the appointment of Collette Roche as Chief Executive Officer, New Stadium Development. This newly minted role underscores her leadership in the club’s ongoing participation in the Old Trafford Regeneration initiatives that have been developed thus far.

This appointment comes on the heels of the official unveiling of the Old Trafford Regeneration Mayoral Development Corporation (OTR MDC), a key entity tasked with spearheading a transformative initiative. The ambitious plan seeks to create a new 100,000-seater stadium, which will not only serve the needs of the club but also generate thousands of jobs and residential opportunities in the surrounding area.

    A Strategic Leadership Role

In her new capacity, Collette will directly report to Omar Berrada, Manchester United’s Chief Executive Officer. This marks a significant stride in the club’s development strategy, aligning her efforts with an overarching vision for modernizing the club’s infrastructure to meet fan expectations.

Engaging Fans for a World-Class Experience

Last November, Manchester United initiated a new phase of consultations with supporters regarding their ambitions to construct a state-of-the-art stadium that prioritizes the fan experience. Since announcing this vision in March, the club has actively sought feedback from fans on potential features, including amenities, seating arrangements, and pricing structures.

    Endorsements from Leadership

Commenting on Roche’s new role, Omar Berrada expressed, “Collette has excelled in guiding the club’s efforts to advance our goal of building a new stadium, integral to the broader Old Trafford Regeneration plan. We are thrilled that she will be dedicating her expertise to this critical project as we accelerate our plans.”

    A Vision for Excellence

Collette Roche herself shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I am deeply honored to take on the leadership of this development project. Working alongside the Mayoral Development Corporation and our diverse group of stakeholders, we aim to create the world’s best stadium for the best team and fanbase in sports. Our approach will be consultative, ensuring that fan feedback is central to every stage of the design and development process.”

Ushering in a new era for Manchester United, Collette Roche’s appointment signals a commitment not only to enhancing the club’s facilities but also to fostering a collaborative relationship with its supporters. The vision laid out by the club aims to redefine the fan experience while also contributing to the local community, making it a project that resonates on multiple levels.
